Magic powers

Today was pretty good. Actually, it was great. I got to have fun with Ben and Tyler today! Isn’t that great?!? I sorta wish I had magic powers, though. I’ve been daydreaming about it all the time. I know this is a weird place to put something like this in a journal, but it’s true. I also wish Dan was out of the hospital. The hospital says he has to stay for 3 or 4 months! Anyway, here is a summary of today. (Besides the parts I can’t remember.) J/K. School starts in a week, with no Dan, or Dustin. How am I going to survive? I mean, one is endangered of dying, and the other I may never hear from again. (And my mom says to try and stay happy.) Well, gotta go. Bye.

  1. The Ben and Tyler here are my brother and his friend Tyler Moore, respectively. At this point I had completed fourth grade, which was the grade in which I met Daniel Burk, the only person I knew during elementary school that I could really call a friend. Unfortunately, he found out that he had leukemia during that summer and ended up spending most of the year in a hospital. The Dustin in question was Dustin Mann(I believe), who I remember as the only person willing to teach me how to play basketball at recess, as opposed to just making fun of me because I couldn’t play it. You’d be surprised how far a little kindness will go, especially to a kid. Magic powers were needed mostly to escape to a place where I had control over what was going on and had some good friends. I think most angst-ridden children have had this same sort of fantasy frequently (as well as probably some of the less angsty ones).
